Helen undertook
some research for me looking for a relative called Nessie in Glasgow. She
didn't find the information I asked for but uncovered an even better find
showing that Nessie's mother died in America when she was visiting her. It even
gave an address and town in America. A quick look on the web showed me the
death record for Nessie and the cemetery in which she was buried. A letter was
dispatched to the new resident at the address that was given and this was passed
on to Nessie's daughter who was quite delighted!
Helen was given a specific research task to undertake but when stumped by a lack
of records she delved in further and found fantastic information. The cost of
this research service elsewhere would be much much higher than Helen actually
charged.

Reliable, Trustworthy and Efficient. This is Helen Curtis and Genealogical
Services. She and I have worked together for over 2 full years. I'd heard of
her through an online recommendation in a Mailing List for Stirlingshire, living
in the central US I was very interested in finding a reliable link to National
Register House, the National Archives of Scotland and their tremendous cache of
documents. I've been sending her names to find, dates to confirm and
certificates to obtain both in Scotland and England since August, 2001. She's
gotten military documents from the Public Records Office in Kew and reminded me
when deadlines were due for requests. If I asked for information she'd already
gotten, it was handily in her laptop ready to re-send if needed. My only
disappointments were with Old Parish Records, not Helen. The difference in
monetary systems is taken care of using PayPal which has no fees for me to send
her Pounds Sterling. If you have any questions about Genealogical Services,

Thought I would share this web site with you all as I have been very happy with her help in getting transcripts of my old dead rellies as she visits Edinburgh on a regular basis and this has saved me a lot of money and patience over the past two years full details are on her web site, www.genealogicalservices.co.uk She is really good.
I use PayPal to pay her and was a bit dubious at first and did a lot of checking on it ...but it is secure and you can pay Helen out of your bank account or visa via the net and no exchange rates to pay anyone who has an email address can be sent money through this method (Was also mentioned in Money Magazine Australia)

I seldom use Origins nowadays except to find Registration numbers which I then send to Helen Curtis who provides an excellent service of transcribing records for a fraction of the price that Origins charges for copies of certificates. 'The speed at which Helen produces results from tentative enquiries is amazing. If I could
give two pieces of advice to people toying with tracing their family tree it
would be:
1 Don’t wait until your elderly relatives are dead
2 When you hit a brick wall and don’t know where to go next seek the assistance
of Helen Curtis.
My family lines have been complicated by couples who produced large numbers of
illegitimate children but alternated the surnames Or registered a child with a
Christian name that was never again used. Then there were the difficult
ones.
Helen has worked away to root them out but out they came. The rates for transcriptions or research are very reasonable and I have progressed my lines so much faster than I would otherwise have done.
