History of the Largs and District Stamp Club

Formed by Alex M Hopkins, MRINA., with the inaugural meeting held on 25^th August 1976 in the Stevenson Institute, Largs; twenty attended that inaugural meeting.  The end of the first year saw membership of twenty four seniors and eight juniors. 

The officers of that first year were; President, Mr A M Hopkins.  Vice, Mr H Kampman.  Secretary and Treasurer; Mr D H Jones.  Junior Rep, Mr S Andrew.  Committee; Mr J A D Paton, Mr P Pengelly and Mrs G D Haig. 

In April 2001, the club was renamed the Largs and District Stamp Club.
